On Saturday 5th October Becky, Keely and Charlene took on the Yorkshire 3 Peaks challenge to raise money for 3 charities, one of which was Sturge Weber UK.
They managed to reach their target of £1,200 between 3 charities meaning £400 is now on its way to Sturge Weber UK.
Charlene went on to complete it alone for the charities within the challenge time of 12 hours in around 11 hours 50 minutes, Becky and Keely managed 2 peaks but had to pull out due to illness and a sprained ankle, they are going to return to tackle the third peak next summer.
On the 7th September, we attempted to complete the Three Peaks Challenge in under 24 hours for Sturge Weber UK.
Although we were outside of the 24-hour target, I am so glad we managed to complete this challenge. It was certainly tougher than we thought it would be, but also an amazing experience. I had trained beforehand and felt pretty good when climbing, but little did I know before this how much my knees did not like going downhill, this proved to be the toughest part for me and definitely slowed me down. The lack of sleep was also a challenge, as we left at 5am on the Saturday to travel to Ben Nevis, before eventually arriving back home via Scafell Pike and Snowdon at 5am on the Monday. Sleeping on a minibus is not easy.
