AGM
It is with much sadness that I must announce cancellation of the AGM which was due to take place on Saturday 10th September at 10am. We announced to members the change of date and that we needed to know about numbers who were going to attend. The reason for this is that for the AGM to be legal we need a minimum of 10 members or 10% of the total members for this to go ahead which would be 30 members. We receive received notice of 3 members who are interested in attending.
It is a legal requirement of the constitution document that we hold an AGM within 18 months of the last AGM. This was held in July 2021 and therefore must take place before March 2023.
With Covid restrictions previously being in place and in a bid to allow all members access to the AGM we decided to trail running this over Zoom. This was well received last year although this year it has not. I as I am sure most of you are now all feed up of zoom and would prefer face to face meetings.
We are planning the family weekend next year rather than waiting 18 months for this as it was a request of many members who attended the weekend that they would like it to be run each year. I am proposing that we hold the AGM at the Family weekend. I need to secure the dates with the hotel and will announce this once this has been agreed.
The Trustees need the members to support us in holding the AGM and feel that the best way to hold the meeting and secure a quorum is to do this when we are face to face. I hope you understand the reason for the decision to postpone this again.

Again a decision has been made to postpone this event. There has been one member family who have registered an interest in attending this event.
Friends of Sturge Weber UK
We have now received 3 applications for members who want to join our team of volunteers. Do you have time that you can spare to help the charity? Being a volunteer is a great way to support the Trustees in running the charity, it widens your knowledge and experience, and it looks great on your CV too! You decide what spare time you have to give. We have nearly 300 members who I am sure have amazing skill sets which could help the charity. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, please email support@sturgeweber.org.uk.
Grant applications
We have received 2 more Make a Difference grant applications in August. The grant application is still open and if you require support from us please contact the Trustees with your application from via support@sturgeweber.org.uk.

Congratulations
Well done to all our members who have received their GCSE and A-level results. Well done to all members who have achieved something during the school holidays whether that be learning a new skill or coping with being out of routine. We were particularly proud of Caity Downes who passed her childcare with 7B’s, 6C’s and 3D’s and passed her GCSE in English.
