That’s another year that has passed us by. Happy new year to you all. Here is hoping 2022 is a happy and healthy one for all our members.
Recap on what we have been up to this year
This year was the year of change in many ways for the charity, here’s a few things which have happened;
- New board of Trustees was being formed
- New website
- New policies to ensure that the charity is more compliant
- Rebranding is underway and the new logo will be released soon
- AGM was held over Zoom which has never been done before and was a success
- Active in April ran for the first time and was really successful
- Make a Difference Grant scheme was launched
- New members only facebook group
- Bake off
- Christmas card and Easter competitions
Logo and Rebranding
The Graphic Designer has been away on holiday and contracted Covid whilst away which resulted in her having to isolate aboard for 10 days that and with Christmas means that there has been a delay on the logo. It is at the top of the priority list for the January and we hope that we can release this by the end of January.
Family Weekend
The booking form for the family weekend will be live this month and will need to be returned before the end of February. The consensus of the questionnaire was that people would like to keep the date of the weekend as May 2022. The bank holiday has been changed by the government for the Queens Platinum Jubilee so staying over on the Sunday night might not have the same amount of people wishing to do this.
As previously advised the family weekend will be run as more of a social event this year. Whilst we will have some speakers the weekend will run to a different time table and the trip on Sunday will not take place where the children leave the hotel and go out with the creche staff. The trip will be on Sunday afternoon and will be open to all members of the family to attend, alternatively if this is not something you and your family wish to do then will allow you free time to spend in the hotel.

Thoughts
The members views have been asked their opinions more this year and it has been really good to see interaction with the members. The Trustees welcome all feedback and value your opinions.
We welcome new Trustees and particularly welcome one with marketing experience. If you are interested please get in touch with us at support@sturgeweber.org.uk.
The Trustees are now focusing on the Family Weekend, rebranding the charity and restocking the shop. We look forward to seeing you all in person in May for the Family Weekend.
The Make a Difference Grant is still available and we welcome applications from our members.
A special mention this month to Yasmin Burns who held a cake sale and sold products with her friends in December. We appreciate all our fundraisers who have continued to raise money for the charity during another difficult year.
